Since there are dozens of suppliers of both upper receivers & barrel extensions it isn’t unusual to see the upper sized larger than spec and the extension sized smaller.  A loose fit of the barrel extension affects:

• Barrel Harmonics
• Consistency of bolt lock-up
• Accuracy
• Overall shot to shot consistency

The quality of upper receivers do vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. If the upper receiver extension face is not true it can have negative effects on the AR.

• The windage or elevation may be way off in one direction with iron sights
• With an optic you may find that gross adjustments are required in one direction
• Can create inconsistent lock-up and unlocking
• Can have an effect on barrel harmonics and accuracy

The BRD Gun Works LLC Upper Receiver Accuracy Enhancement Package addresses the concerns of a loose barrel extension fit by bedding the barrel extension to the upper receiver. In addition, other specific components and areas of the upper receiver that can create accuracy concerns are also addressed.

The following is performed in the Accuracy Enhancement Package:

• True the upper receiver barrel extension
• Bed the barrel to the receiver extension
• Lap the bolt to the barrel extension
• Check gas tube alignment- Correct as required

This service permanently attaches the muzzle device to the barrel, which extends its measured length and with the proper length muzzle device it keeps you from needing to use a pistol brace or paying the tax stamp for an SBR.  The muzzle device is torqued and timed to your requested position.
