The AR platform relies upon gas to function. The amount of reciprocating mass, typically the bolt, bolt carrier, and the buffer, when combined with the springs and gas effects the cyclic rate and related function of the weapon. Achieving operational perfection is dependent on achieving the proper balance between the three and tuning the system in the proper sequence.

Advantages of an optimized buffer system:

• Reduced wear and damage to internal parts of the AR
• Reducing chamber pressures and carrier speeds
• Provides for a smoother operating buffer system and one that aids in reducing felt recoil
• A side benefit is that it aids in reducing sight/dot movement during recoil
• Increased reliability when the weapon is fouled

The BCG is the heart of the AR platform. If the BCG isn’t gas efficient, has improper gas key screws and/ or staking, contains sub-par springs or other components it could cause your AR to run on the ragged edge of reliability. Failure could render your AR useless.

With the BCG Reliability Package the BCG undergoes a full inspection and gauging as outlined in the BCG Inspection Program. Once this is completed the BCG is then serviced with components that will increase the performance and dependability of the BCG.

Gas is the life force of the direct impingement AR. Loose and misaligned gas blocks are the most common causes of gas related malfunctions in the AR platform. Most manufacturers and those whom “build” their own rifles rely upon inferior gas block set screws and maybe Loctite to keep their gas blocks in place. Heat reduces the ability of Loctite to act as a thread locker, and over time will no longer properly retain the screws allowing for the increased probability of the gas block coming loose and moving.

This service is for duty and defensive style AR’s, or those AR’s that have exposed low profile gas blocks. Pinning of the gas block assures gas port alignment and an integrated fit of the gas block to the barrel via the pin. This assures that the gas block will not come loose and create gas related malfunctions of your AR.

The Upper Receiver Reliability Package is a culmination of the above services, along with a couple of BRD Gun Works LLC assembly techniques that aid in enhancing dependability and reduced component wear. This provides for an increased savings compared to purchasing each service individually.

When performed, all of the above modifications lead to a CLEANER and more reliable AR15. The polished areas are NOT prone to rust. The polished surface seals the metal extremely well and metal heat treat/hardness is NOT compromised.
