Born and raised in south central Iowa, hunting has always been Chad’s passion. At the age of 8, he started going along side his Dad in the CRP fields chasing pheasant and quail carrying his Red Ryder.  At the age of 12, he killed his first deer, a 142” 10 point buck. Hunting big Iowa whitetails was Chad’s main focus until 4 years ago, when he went on his first thermal hog hunt. He was intrigued by thermal hunting and quickly purchased his own. He and a few buddies went coyote hunting one night in the bitter cold temps, and after five stands and a pile of coyotes in the truck, the hook was set. Since then, predator hunting has become his obsession. He is constantly striving to learn more about coyotes and perfect the night hunting game.

Chad was first a client of BRD Gun Works. He brought in a large frame 243 AR for service. After time, we grew a great friendship. It was Chad that suggested that BRDGW should focus on the predator hunting rifles. It was also Chad that literally made the push for it to happen. Over the last few years, Chad has field tested and provided input on many BRD rifles, cartridges, barrels, and other components. Recently, Chad has become a Pro Staff member for N-Vision Optics.
